Lazy Wednesdays, Links and a Katamari Cake

I'm copping out on a real post today because it's the week before finals and have to finish papers early so I can go home this weekend. As I've recently become a member of 20something bloggers (ans gave up Facebook for Lent) I've been skipping around the unterwebs for things to read. Here are some of them;

1. There's this girl Jill. She's pretty frickin' hysterical and you should read about her life in Alska at "The Great White North" This one is my favorite, and not just 'cause Jill's my BFF The Second and plutonic valentine who occasionally mentions me.

2. Becca is rad too, she's over at "The Dauntless Muse." She's my BFF The First... and also mentions me occasionally. Notice a pattern?

3. NO YOU DON'T, it's coincidence because "Cute with Chris" won't mention me until he has to take out a restraining order agrees to collaborate with me.  I would take so many cute pictures. with him.

4. I've made a few friends over at 20somethings and both Ben of "No Ordinary Rollercoaster"* and Amber of "LeMeh" are wonderful people** who should be read everyday.  Amber is a mom who I a little wish was my mom 'cause she's sarcastic and dry and those are some of my favorite things.  Ben is hilarious and Canadian and I've a softness for Canada ever since I went there and liked it better than here places.

5. Last thing is "Cake Wrecks" where I found the following picture.  1000 words GO:
(Found by Christina H. and made by Mike's Amazing Cakes)

So go; read and be learned.

*I know that Roller Coaster is really two words, but quotes fix things.
**They might be a little put off at being called "wonderful" but I've a good feeling that it's true.

Internet Nostalgia

I got in my email today a letter from Livejournal, telling my that one of my journals was going to be deleted. I was confused, as I thought I had only the one... and then I remembered. This was starting post in that journal.

A Step
Nov. 19th, 2006 | 04:27 am
Today I make a step. Whether or not it is in the right direction only time will tell, but a step it is. Today I am outing myself. Sad that it is on a journal which no one will see and sadder that no one knows who I am but even Rome fell one brick at a time. Take the news and run with it, another gay exists in the world.

Can we notice the time/date stamp? I think, though I'm not sure, this was after I'd come out to Becca a little... meaning I told her I thought I might be gay but wasn't really sure about it. I am SO great at opening up to people. (SARCASM) Also, apparently Novemeber is the month because on the 17th of 2008 is when I came out for the last time. A two-year process; Good Lord. :p

I'm award winning!

Yay!  My bff/sister (no blood relation) Becca gave me the "Perfect Blend of Friendship" award! Awwwwwwwww... Thanks sis!  <3

Seeing as I have no other friends who blog on a regular basis I will hold on to this until I do. *HINT*

Actually I can't say that too loudly as the last time I made an informative post was.... *checks blog history*

......Oh.... I guess I haven't made one.... yeah.  Whoops?

Well then... what have I been up to.....
...
.....
...
..........
.....
..
.
OH!  I am teaching!  That's big-ish, so now you have to get to read about that!  :)

Right, so last month (Sept.) I started student teaching Music Theory at Olympic College.
Well, kinda.

**RELATED SIDE STORY**So here's the thing.  I graduated from OC in 2006.  I did ok....kinda.  I started out badly but pulled my grade up from the deepest pits of muck and mire (1.7) and graduated with a 3.1.  Impressive, right?  I thought so.  So then the family takes a 6-week european vacation and while there I decided that I want to work and live a bit so I try to get into a job over there.  It didn't work.  Then I decided that I wanted to own a coffee shop/bar.  No go.  Then I decided that I wanted to go BACK to school at Western Washington University.  Still no. Which brings us back to....... *MAIN STORY*

So after the whole Western debacle (I have a pretty good GPA, like 12 amazing letters of reference, a kick ass essay and I'm an Eagle Scout, who wouldn't want me?)  *RETARDS*  after all that I finally decided that music is where I want to spend my time.  It makes sense.  I'm good at it, it's been the one constant in my life and I could happily look at those little black dots for days on end.  It was one of those "you don't know what you have until you lose it" scenarios.  So I talked to my old theory teacher, Rick White; Theory Genius (says so on his business card) about sitting in on classes to refresh so when I go take entrance exams I don't look too much a fool.  He was totally down with the idea, but took it further and asked, "what if you TEACH the class?"

O.0

(That was my face.  I'm pretty sure I felt my pupils do that.)

Really?  Seriously?  You want me to teach a college class?  I couldn't even get into WESTERN, and you want me to TEACH a COLLEGE class!?  Like, one where PEOPLE, ADULT PEOPLE pay money |PAY MONEY| to LEARN THINGS and you want ME to TEACH IT?!?!  Ummmmmmm... ok?

And I love it.  I'm considered a TA which means a lot of copying and such but I work with the students one on one and if at any time Rick can't be at class (cocktail flu and whatnot) then it's "me baby, me" who does the teaching.  So I say things and see light-bulbs go off in people's heads and I'm all, "They get it, they get it 'cause I said something that they understood!  I'm TEACHING! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!"

But you know, internally.

So yeah, that's what I've been up to lately.  That and packing, I move next week into my boss' basement.  I'm sure I'll have another parenthesis-filled, side-story heavy blog about it at some point so keep checking.  Also many font sizes.

Adios.

REVAMP!!!!!!

Hello all you party people... this is what's up.

I started this thing as a travel blog for our family's trip to Europe... in 2006. As you may have noticed, I posted once and then kinda just didn't anymore. We'll go with I was WAY to busy having fun seeing things. (Truth: I was stuck in a camper-van for 6 weeks with people who really should not travel together for more than one.)

Luckily for me, and to your dismay (you'll see) Blogger was kind enough to keep this around so that I could use to write about whatever the hell I want to. I'm so excited, aren't you? ;)

I WAS going to start this out with an amazing story about how my best friend/sister and I saved the world on Thursday, but she plagiarized me and posted already. So you should go read what is my story about the zombie uprising that she posted.

Oh fine, she wrote it. Can I help it if she's a better writer? Whatever, just go read it. It's right here. (http://influencebad.blogspot.com/2008/07/fort-worden-adventure.html)

Go, right now. No, I'll wait... really.
